I have worked for many years for big corporations wrangling code on their website. I am completely self-taught. I learned in the beginnings of internet browsing (1994) and I never stopped. I don’t have a Computer Science degree. I have a Film degree. There are a ton of things I know. There’s about a ton to the nth things I don’t know. That is true for any programmer. I really don’t know how I lasted this/that long as a web developer because I am not a very web developery type person (which interestingly enough is one of the reasons why people want to hire me). I started to make the move in 2008 to take all the skills and experience I have gained over the years and use them towards becoming a project manager. And from that, for a start-up company I worked for, I actually became the program manager. After that gig, I manage to hook up another project manager position. However, after that, I was snookered into a job that was supposed to be mostly project managing, some web developing into a job that was mostly web developing, some project managing. That was some bullshit.
Right now? I’m living in Europe with my fiance focusing my time on things that interest me like learning German, writing a book and trying to start up this blog here. This blog is about user experience. This blog is about user intuitiveness. This blog is about things I haven’t decided it should be about yet. To start, I will be the sole contributor to this blog but I expect to be soliciting some of my talented friends to contribute as well.
By the way, I am also a jackass.
